Program overview of Pathrise

Pathrise has several different programs to help you land that next job.   I’m going to talk in general about all the programs you can use when you sign up with Pathrise. You’ll have so many resources for you that this seems almost a way to help you with your job searches.

Interviewing workshops –  If you are about to interview with a company you could have a mentor or someone in the hiring industry to talk you through what you might go through with the interview process.

Company Guides – This is good for those who might want to research companies and find out which companies are your best choices for the tough times we are having.   They will give you information that you probably would have to find somewhere else but they seem to cultivate the information into one place.

Coaches –  You have a multitude of Coaches to use when you are trying to find a job from Mindset Coaching, IT & Cybersecurity, Engineering (non-software), Sales, Design, Marketing, and Data couches that you can reach out to find out even more information that you might need to know before you start applying for those types of jobs.

Pipeline – The pipeline for people who might need help reaching out to perspective recruiters and help you stand out with them and make connections to them to help you find a job that might work better for you than ever before.

Knowledge Base –  The knowledge base helps you to learn ways to be effective and even has a some good decision trees concepts that you can use.  This will allow you to reach out to the right people and make connection so there is a chance that you get that job that you might otherwise not get if you didn’t do it.    Preparing for interviews and even salary negotiations, so you can you get the most of the job offer.

You will pay after your trial, however the payment is something that you can talk about to your intake mentor and it can help you get that dream job.   We become recruiters of ourselves and use Pathrise to so get that interview.   You have a Basic, Essential and Pro.  Each one of these is starting off at 7%, 11%, and 14% of your next job annual amount.   You can sign up and make even more choices and allows you to get help where you are lacking.   I personally love the career coaches and mindset coaches because they are a great asset to making the job search even easier because you can talk to them about what is going on and they will listen and encourage you to keep searching for that job your having trouble finding.

My thoughts on Pathrise

There’s so much more to Pathrise but I do think they have some great resources for those who are looking for a job and can even help you get a job at Microsoft, or even Meta, to say a few that are partnered with them.   Each one of these companies is always looking to hire new help or more help from time to time.   They will be a great resource for those who might be struggling with the Job market and wanting to advance in the career path.   I have seen this to be a great help with me even today and I am supporting them through any way I can.   They seem to have a solid understanding of the job market and how to find a job.   So why not give them a try yourself.  You can try for the free trial and check out all they have and also all they can do for you too.

Beyond Bits and Bytes: The Art of Pivoting Away from Tech

Is it time to Pivot to another Industry?

First question we must ask what do when pivoting in another industry? The short answer is choicing to leave the an industry because of no success or too many people are trying to get for the same types of jobs. It is sometimes even scary and uncertain to most people because it is something that you have never done. This is where it can be challenging and new to most people. The other questions I usually get from people and from myself when asking this question is “Where do I start at and what areas am I good at that would get me a job?”  These are the questions that I would be asking myself while thinking about pivoting away from the current Technology industry and I am sure I am not the only one when it comes to this idea or thoughts.

Have you recognized the Signs?

The real question is, why has it been so hard to find a job in the tech industry that you want to find a new job that might work for you to bring in the money that you might need to keep paying those bills.   The underlying questions is usually how many applications have you applied for and got turned down?  Has this been something that seems to be a repeatively being turned down for getting those interviews.  The ultimate signs you could need to pivot is burnout of applying for jobs to a lack of passion to keep applying for those types that seem to not even be interested in your skill set.   We may need to acknowledge that we may not have enough experience or that there are too many people trying to get the same job to even have a chance to land a job to bring in the money we may need to pay bills.

What is the Motiviation behind this?

Ultimately the main motivation is probably to keep food on the table and be able to pay the bills that much is what everyone is wanting to do in the end.  We need to identify other motiviations that you might been considering as you are considering changing directions.   Is because you like People, or are you looking for new challenges that may interest you.   Knowing what your motivation might be will help you know how well you will do when you pivot.   Clarifying your strong motiviations and knowing what you are good at will help you to identify which industries you might be able to pivot to help you get those jobs that might be interested in applying for.  While you consider your motivations, go ahead and consider your transferrable skills that you might also have to use in other industries and that might help you identify where you might be good at.  Write these skills down and start considering who might need them and you will be better off finding area’s to apply for.  Leverage those skills while you modify your resume to help show the potential employer that you are good fit can bring even more jobs and job offers.   I am sure that knowing these skills will help you get that job you probably are wanting and needing in this uncertain time.

Can you Embrace the Journey?

You should embrace the journey as you transistion from Technology industry to another industry where you can learn new talents and learn things to bring you on your journey to better you.   Nothing is set in stone and that much is where we need to learn from the life.   Resiliencey is key to this journey you might be considering and you should have a support system available to help encourage you and show you even mroe skills you might be able to bring to any jobs.  Seek people who might have gotten jobs like the ones you are looking to apply for and have them mentor you in what it might be like to learn even more about if this would be a good fit for you.   You will need to learn new skills but while learning them you might find that the job is more enjoyable than you thought it would be.

Finally, I could talk even more about this but I thought we should at least consider the idea of maybe people needing to move away from the technology sector and find other jobs to help support their needs to pay off bills while they can still use the time to look for jobs in the industry.  It is much easier to have a job to find a job then to be unemployed and looking for a job.  Either way you can be sure whatever you decide to do will help guide you.   You should sit down with friends and family and discuss this as much as possible to help you understand the potential pro’s and con’s of the industry and be open to listening to their thoughts on the subject.  They might be able to help identify where you should apply to get that job.   You aren’t alone in this like everyone else this is a journey for sure.

3 topics I enjoy to talk about and why?

Topics

Science Fiction

To boldly go where no man has gone before!  You’ve probably heard that saying before but I grew up with Star Wars, and And Star Trek.   I even Grew up with Buck Rogers or even The Million dollar man.  I love the fact that there were new technology and new ways to deal with problems.   I would go to cons in my area whenever there was one and I still might when they start doing it again.   I can remember the days that I would watch every single episodes of the original Star Trek and want to meet some of these people myself.  I can’t imagine I am no the only one.  This is why I listen to all these audio books because I just keep imagining meeting different aliens and knowing what the world will be like or how different it will become.

Technology

It’s all in how you see the world.  Yes it so much more better seeing the world when I know that there are possibilities that we have never imagined.  I see companies that are trying to innovate and then I see companies who just like to keep the things the same.   Without innovation we would not become even better.   I could talk about technology until the day I am out of breath but I wouldn’t stop just for myself.   I even like to know what they will do in the future and I imagine them to be so much better than before.  After everything we’ve seen, can it not get even more better than we could possibly imagine?

Games

The cake is a lie!  Lately I have been playing old games that can easily be played on my newer systems because the games reminds me where I came from and why I did what I did.  It’s all in how you approach the problem and figure out the problem.   I simply love to problem solve and see what I can do with the games.   I guess that’s why I love puzzle games like Portal, Subnautica, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020,  Half Life Series and Terratech or anything that lets me build or problem solve.   I can’t imagine I am the only one who likes these types of games because it is just fun to be able to do things and try new ways to play a game or solve a puzzle in the game.   I hope the game developers get even more creative in the way they will allow the player to solve the game or let the player figure a problem out in several ways.

These are just a few things I can talk about and still do whenever I see Something that I want to talk about on my blog.  These are only a few topics that I enjoy to write about and even might even make more topics as I see more things that I need to write about.   What are some things you like to talk about and why?  Let me know what you like and don’t and we can discuss them in the comments below.

The Infamous SSL Issues and what I’ve learned!

It happened to me!

If you were watching my site the last day or so you would of come to notice a message. The messages was ‘ERR_SSL_UNRECOGNIZED_NAME_ALERT‘. I really don’t know how it happened or even why it happened. I have been using the free SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt, I really believe that they want to do everything in their power to give bloggers and other websites a chance to encrypt their data even if they don’t have to. I’m currently using Hostgator and I have always keep with them, when I am using my blog. They walked me through the process of fixing this issue.

My experience with it all!

I was told by Jetpack that my sit was having intermittent connections and that my site appears to be offline. This is strictly and automatic support for WordPress and it is basically just pinging the server from time to time. I proceeded to my website and saw the error. I’m not a novice at this and went searching through Google. I can usually find what I am needing to solve this issue. I found at Stackflow Community Questions sections about this same exact error. Then I tried the same exact process the guy did to see if I could resolve this issue. It seemed to work for the most part. I tried to force WordPress back into non secure connection and I could log in to WordPress dashboard. I couldn’t connect to my FTP server with and I knew it had to be an issue with the SSL certificate. I’ve never known this issue to be anything but that because I couldn’t login with FilleZilla to my server.

Hostgator Tech Support

I chatted on live support with Tech support for about an Hour and we continued back and fourth about what is causing this problem. I honestly thought it might be having to do with Sitelock and Let’s Encrypt but we moved through the process of getting this issue fixed and finally he uninstalled the certificate and couldn’t reinstall it but couldn’t due to Sitelock. Then the site started giving me the error Code 30. I talked to support all the while and he tried a few more things but ultimately he had to create a ticket for them to fix it. I wasn’t too worried that my site would be down too long but I did at least want to tell you my story. They fixed my site with in an 2 hours of the ticket being created and everything seems to be working. In the end, they had to install the SSL certificate manually and configure the server to accept Let’s Encrypt. It’s free and I am hopeful that this will only happen once and nothing else will happen.

More Security equals more Problems!

I’ve always believed in security and I will always believe it in. Even though we have more security we will have even more problems but the more problems we solve the quicker the problem can be identified and we can go back to what we do best. Nothing will ever be fool proof and I am sure I won’t be the last website to have to deal with this type of technical issue! Did it happen to your website, why not tell me what you did to solve the issue? Got any advice for others why not leave a comment.

8 Years!

It’s been such a long time since I started this blog in 2006 or so. I can’t even remember when I did this! Well Let’s start off by talking about what I have been doing since I ended this blog in 2012. I started my business and traveled half away around the world! That part is special to me, but I am not done with this journey. I decided to start blogging again for reasons that are mine! I am going to go back to the basics with this blog.

Back to Basics!

I’ve decided to go back to basics and blog about stuff that are common problems in Windows and Linux systems. I am currently just going to build my blog from what I know. It should be interesting and challenging all in one. This will be the best blog ever! I intend to find content and introduce my own content later on! I just need to start blogging. I will be working on other things in my life. My love life, my house life, and traveling . So you will get a unique perspective of my life. It should be interesting and challenging to say the least.

My old blog posts!

I don’t know if I kept my old blog post backed up but if I find them, I’ll be uploading them into this server sometime in the coming weeks! You can find some of it at paulstechtalk.squarespace.com, It will become more and more personalized in the coming weeks and month but I am going to put more time into this than I can to build my audience and readers. So until then keep coming back and telling your friends that I am back!
